Health Insurance Scheme Criticised For Poor Coverage

Various civil society organisations in Ghana have said that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) does not adequately provide coverage for the low income population, one of the key objectives of the scheme. Despite this, we assert that the Ghanaian NHIS is still in the early phases of proper and widespread implementation and that problems like this are to be expected.
