Patented Drug Spending On The Rise

Latest figures from the Canada Patented Medicines Review Board prices (PMRB) reveal that patented drug spending in Canada is on the rise, evidenced by a 5% increase in sales between 2007 and 2008 to a value of US$11.7bn. BMI's figuresof US$12.1bn in 2008 closely matched the report, underlining the strength of our forecast that the patented drug market will reach a value of US$14.6bn by 2013, at a compound annual growth rate of 3.9% in US dollar terms.
