OTC Sector Forecast Maintained

BMI is maintaining its forecast for Japan's US$6bn over-the-counter (OTC) medicine market despite significant changes to the operating environment. Allowing the distribution of products in convenience stores and supermarkets will boost the sector; however, the ban on internet sales will cancel out the majority of upside. Increased competition and the inevitable reduction in prices will also constrain our market valuation projection.
