New Antihypertensive Receives SFDA Approval

China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has approved Sinobiopharma's improved version of perindopril, which is the active ingredient in Servier's antihypertensive Corversyl. The Nanjing-based drugmaker has applied for a patent and commercialisation is expected soon. It is BMI's view that this development is further confirmation of China's increasing aptitude for original R&D.
