German Pharmacy Market Laws To Change?
April 2009 | Industry Trend AnalysisThe European Commission (EC) has made a formal request that Germany reviews its laws on the ownership of pharmacies. The requests - which take the form of Reasoned Opinions - come after the EC found that current legislations are in conflict with the freedom of establishment. Under German law, ownership of pharmacies is restricted to pharmacists, or pharmacist-only partnerships. Furthermore, an individual can only own one main store and three branch stores, with a minimum proximity between them.
