New Objectives For Providing Medicines
October 2008 | Industry NewsBulgaria's National Health Strategy 2008-2013[1] contains a multitude of tasks and objectives for improving the country's healthcare system. Strategic Objective V: 'Providing medicines and medical products conforming to the needs and economic opportunities of the population', outlines a number of strategies for modernising the country's pharmaceutical regulations and strategy over the coming years. Bulgaria spent US$132 per capita on pharmaceuticals in 2007, which, apart from fellow 2007 accession state Romania (US$127 per capita), is the lowest in the EU.
