First Large-Scale Pharmaceutical Plant To Boost Domestic Production

Pharmaceutical production in Kyrgyzstan is set for a major boost following the opening of a new pharmaceutical plant in the Bishkek free economic zone. The facility - owned by local company Pharmaco Group - will be its first of the kind in the country and is said to meet international quality standards. Production capacity is 500mn pills, 100mn capsules and 12mn vials of sterile antibiotics per year and will produce 20 types of medicines across a range of disease areas, including cardiology, paediatrics, gynaecology and urology.
