ProStrakan's Sancuso Receives US FDA Approval
September 2008 | Product LaunchUnderlining the UK's rich heritage in developing drugs, Scottish company ProStrakan's granisetron transdermal patch, Sancuso, has been approved by the US FDA for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. The development is encouraging for the UK biomedical research sector, but BMI does not expect the product to generate significant sales, mainly because of its low novelty and limited sales and marketing resources set aside for its promotion. Nevertheless, the medium term prospects for ProStrakan are healthy in our opinion, which has been reflected in the company's share price doubling over the past six months.
