At Least 1,013 Died From Fentayl Overdoses Between 2005-2007
July 2008 | Industry NewsReuters has reported that 1,013 people died in 2005-2007 after overdosing on the powerful pain killer fentanyl. Chicago alone witnessed 349 deaths, followed by Philadelphia with 269, the Detroit area with 230 deaths. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, fentanyl, which had been illegally imported from Mexico in some proportion was often mixed with heroin and cocaine.
