Innovative Scheme Allows US Firms To Stockpile Tamiflu
July 2008 | Industry NewsIn an effort to slow the decline in Tamiflu (oseltamivir) sales, Roche is to initiate a new corporate purchasing plan aimed at US businesses. Under the terms of the plan, firms will pay an annual fee to the Swiss firm in return for a reserved stockpile of the drug. Roche will store and rotate the drugs to ensure they remain in-date. Companies are required to place a minimum order of 2,500 courses of the drug at US$6 each. If a company decides it needs access to the drug, it can then be purchased at wholesale prices and delivered within 48
