Abbott Expects To Outperform Market
June 2008 | Product LaunchFollowing the launch of its breakthrough rheumatoid arthritis therapeutic, US drugmaker Abbott Laboratories is looking to outperform the Japanese patented drug sector over the next two years. By 2010, the company hopes to achieve sales of US$1bn, up 14% on current levels. It is BMI's view that the company will achieve its goal given the efficacy and safety of the drug, and that the patented drug sector is only expected to expand by 1.3% over the next two years, from US$60.7bn currently to US$61.4bn in 2010.
