USTR's IP Concerns Lengthen
May 2008 | Industry NewsIn terms of volume, the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR)'s 2008 Special 301 Report suggests that BMI's belief that this year will see the US push to improve intellectual property (IP) protection with its trade partners is playing out. The 2008 report placed 46 countries on the Priority Watch List (PWL), Watch List (WL) or the Section 306 monitoring list, up from 43 in 2007. Five countries, Algeria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Norway and Spain feature in the report that were absent in 2007, whereas just two countries, Belize and Lithuania were judged to have made sufficient progress
