AstraZeneca Embroiled In US Court Proceedings
June 2008 | Industry NewsAstraZeneca has asked a US judge to throw out or reduce the US$215mn fine that resulted from a Medicaid drug price fraud lawsuit. The UK drugmaker was found liable for misrepresentation and fraudulent concealment by an Alabama state court in February 2005 and ordered to pay the state US$40mn in compensatory damages and US$175mn in punitive damages.
