BfArM Approves Generic Plavix
May 2008 | Industry NewsGermany's main regulatory body, the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), has controversially approved a generic form of global blockbuster Plavix (clopidogrel). The generic form of clopidogrel was developed by a small Swiss company, Cimex, a member of the Schweizerhall group. As a result, Sanofi-Aventis immediately launched a legal action, claiming the drug registration was obtained illegally.
