Sanofi-Aventis Gears Up For Plavix Patent Battle

France's Sanofi-Aventis is gearing up for a battle over the validity of its patent for anti-clotting agent Plavix (clopidogrel) in the Dominican Republic, according to the Dominican Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (Infadomi). Local drugmaker Dominican Laboratory Linea SA has launched generic clopidogrel, which, according to Sanofi-Aventis, infringes its local Plavix
