Boehringer Ingelheim's Pradaxa Gets European Approval

Germany's Boehringer Ingelheim has been granted marketing authorisation for its novel anticoagulant, Pradaxa (dabigatran etexilate), by the European Commission (EC). Pradaxa is a novel, oral anticoagulant and has been approved for the prevention of venous thromboembolic events in adults who have undergone elective total hip or total knee replacement surgery.
