Grupo Casa Saba Reports Modest Growth

Grupo Casa Saba (GCS)'s uninspiring Q407 results have underlined BMI's warning that the domestic distribution giant must look to international expansion or for a foreign tie up if it is to increase turnover. Fourth quarter sales grew by 3.85% compared with Q406 to reach US$7.1bn, while profits reached US$383.9mn. Sales in GCS's private pharmaceutical division, which accounts for over 80% of revenue, grew by just 3.66%.
