Novartis Looks To Expand
March 2008 | Company News AlertEmboldened by strong financial results, Swiss multinational Novartis is increasing its activities in China. The company intends to boost sales in rural areas, sell more vaccines and generic drugs, and ramp up original R&D. BMI endorses the strategy outlined by Novartis and believes it holds an advantage over other large drugmakers due its full-spectrum approach, which lessens its reliance on patented drugs. Accordingly, we expect the firm to increase its market share from 1.15% to 1.50% by 2012.
