Government Puts Faith In Locally Developed Medicines
January 2008 | Industry NewsIran's Ministry of Health is to begin reimbursing locally developed HIV/AIDS medicine IMOD (immuno-modulator drug) in a decision that could benefit the 66,000 Iranians estimated to be infected by the disease according to UNAIDS. Controversially, IMOD is a herbal remedy without a scientifically proven efficacy, although Health Minister Kamran Baqeri Lankarani maintains that the drug is effective in controlling the viral load and boosting the immune
