TB Control Makes Economic Sense

A study by the World Bank has analysed the health economics of the Stop TB (tuberculosis) Partnership's Global Plan To Stop TB and concluded that the financial benefits of its implementation outweigh its costs in 22 countries with the highest TB burdens, demonstrating that fighting TB in low and middle income countries can make sense for economic reasons as well as humanitarian reasons. The report identifies China and India as countries where the Global Plan would have the greatest benefits.
