Sigma Acquires Orphan
December 2007 | Company News AlertReinforcing its position as one of Australia's leading drugmakers, Sigma Pharmaceuticals has acquired compatriot firm Orphan Holdings. The AUD130mn (US$113mn) deal gives Sigma an enhanced presence in the lucrative hospital market, building upon existing capabilities in the retail pharmacy sector. By adding another revenue stream to its operations, BMI believes that 2008 Sigma sales and profit may reach US$2.5bn and US$150mn, respectively.
