Richter Snaps Up Regional Rivals
November 2007 | FDI AlertHungarian drugmaker Richter is set to become the largest pharmaceutical firm in the Central & Eastern European region with the purchase of Polish drugmaker Polpharma and Russia's Akrihin in a combined deal worth US$1.46bn. Richter's CEO Erik Bogsch claims the acquisitions will help Richter improve its product portfolio and gain critical mass, two key components of a successful generics firm, and an analysis BMI agrees with.
