Healthcare Growth Set For Acceleration
October 2007 | Industry NewsA report of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has confirmed BMI's belief that the UAE healthcare sector should experience strong growth over the next five years. The report forecasts the sector to reach US$11.9bn by 2015, making it one of the country's most promising industries. Over 13,000 people, or around 1.5% of the workforce, are currently employed in the UAE healthcare industry. BMI expects growth in the sector to be around 7% per annum for the next three years, slightly above GDP growth due to a growing chronic disease burden.
