Elimination of Local Plant Requirement Provokes Opposition
July 2007 | Legal NewsMexico's Secretary of Economy has reportedly sent a draft decree to the federal body charged with improving regulation and trade policy that envisions a scrapping of Mexico's 'plant requirement' law, which currently requires manufacturers to have production and testing facilities in the country in order to import and market pharmaceuticals in the country. Such a step was previously advanced in guidance issued by the federal Commission for Regulatory Improvement (Cofemer).
