Farmacias Ahumada Shifts Back To Expansion Mode

After turning a sharp 2005 loss into a solid CLN7.05bn (US$13.3mn) profit in 2006, leading Chilean and regional pharmacy chain Farmacia Ahumada (Fasa) is shifting gears from cost-cutting to expansion, according to Sergio Purcell, the group's chief executive officer. In an interview with a Chilean newspaper, Purcell said 'we aspire to become one of the 10 largest [pharmacy chains] in the world'.
