NHS Not Keen On Cancer Drugs
May 2007 | Industry NewsDoctors in the UK have expressed doubt that state-run healthcare provider the National Health Service (NHS) will be able to afford the new generation of cancer drugs that are entering the market. A questionnaire sent out by public broadcaster the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) asked oncology specialists for their opinions on the state of drug approvals by medicines regulator the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). Of the respondents, 180 described themselves as worried or very worried.
