Ranbaxy Expands South African Footprint
May 2007 | Industry NewsIndian drugmaker Ranbaxy has expanded its presence in the South African pharmaceuticals market after completing the purchase of local producer Be-Tabs Pharmaceuticals in a deal worth ZAR500mn (US$72.17mn). As part of the deal, local black economic empowerment (BEE) firm Community Investment Holdings (CIH) has taken a 25% stake in the company for ZAR125mn (US$18.1mn).
