Wockhardt Acquires Negma
May 2007 | Industry NewsIndian biotech firm Wockhardt has acquired French pharmaceutical company Negma Laboratories for US$265mn. The deal makes Wockhardt the largest Indian drugmaker operating in Europe. Europe, with is appetite for low-cost generic products and high levels of health expenditure, is seen as a key target for Indian firms, especially considering the difficult operating environments currently being experienced by generics firms in the US.
