Strings Attached To Acomplia Reimbursement Decision
March 2007 | Company Finance AlertFrench drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis ' obesity drug Acomplia (rimonabant) has been included on France's list of reimbursable medicines. The drug was initially recommended for reimbursement by the French Ministry of Health in February 2006, although it has only now been launched on the market. There has been strong opinion throughout Europe that the drug is a lifestyle medicine and should not reimbursed, with Germany an example of one country that has taken this line. As a result, although Acomplia will be reimbursed in France it will have a number of conditions attached.
