Bayer Records Sales Surge
March 2007 | Industry NewsGerman drugmaker Bayer Healthcare saw sales increase 47% in 2006, to reach EUR11.7bn (US$15.54bn) in 2006, with recent EUR17bn (US$22.6bn) acquisition Schering AG contributing EUR3.1bn (US$4.12bn) to this total. However, BMI believes the Bayer's results are indicative of the tough operating conditions that currently exist, with drug firms looking to make large-scale purchases in order to shore up revenues.
