Pharmaceuticals Rescue Export Sector
April 2007 | Trade AlertDriven by increasing global demand for medicines, the export of pharmaceuticals from Singapore increased dramatically in March 2007. The trade figures have been welcomed by the country's economists because output of electronics - Singapore's traditional export produce - continues to fall. BMI estimates the value of pharmaceutical exports to reach US$13.4bn by the end of 2007, rising to US$17.5bn by 2011.
