Multinationals Push For FTA Approval

Colombia's association of multinational, research-based pharmaceutical companies (AFIDRO) has said it would push for legislative approval of the terms of the US Free Trade Agreement (FTA) inked between the two countries in 2006. The FTA would cement intellectual property (IP) gains in terms of data exclusivity and aid help remove grey and black market medicines while seeing the phasing in of patent restoration - the recognition of historical patents.
