Unichem In Talks With Cimed

India's Unichem Laboratories is reportedly in talks with Brazilian drugmaker Cimed to acquire its São Paulo-based injectable drug unit, Neckerman. As BMI has already reported, Unichem has been in talks to acquire a distributor in Brazil, along with IP rights, such as existing marketing authorisations. Valor Economico quoted a senior manager at Cimed as saying that they are also discussing a distribution tie-up, on top of the deal to acquire Neckerman. The transaction could be worth as much as US$25mn.
