Health Insurers See Profits Soar In 2006
January 2007 | Company Finance AlertEstimates published in January by a Brazilian insurance market analyst predicts the combined net profit for the market for health insurance products in Brazil will have increased nearly ten-fold to BRL572mn (US$253mn) in 2006. Independent economist and market analyst Luiz Roberto Castiglione estimates the market grew by 995%, as the market regains levels of profitability not seen in a decade. The results reflect a boom in corporate health policies driven by overall economic growth and better margins for these products.
