Illegal Drug Approvals Could Lead To Compensation Claims
February 2007 | Legal NewsForeign drugmakers are claiming loss of earnings because Poland's pre-EU government approved a raft of domestic medicines without observing proper regulations. The action could cost the Health Ministry approximately US$1bn over the next two years, placing a significant burden on the country's under-funded healthcare system. BMI is concerned at this latest negative development to Poland's pharmaceutical market but we are maintaining our forecast for the time being. We are taking this stance primarily because any payment by the government to foreign pharmaceutical firms would invariably come from the medicines budget, a cut in which would be detrimental to the drugmakers,
