Health Survey Postponed
January 2007 | Product LaunchThe controversial health survey in Romania has been postponed by three months as lawmakers amend the remit of the programme. Health Minister Eugen Nicolaescu has been told that he must now review the text of the draft legislation and turn it into a governmental decision before the "census of the sick" is applied. Accordingly, the programme will not start until mid-2007, rather than April as anticipated. BMI welcomes the scheme and any attempts to ensure a smooth introduction, but is slightly concerned at the estimated RON900mn (US$340mn) cost, considering that the country has numerous other healthcare needs that would benefit
