Inspector Increases Withdrawals After Scandal
January 2007 | Company News AlertFollowing the Corhydron scandal in early November 2006, the number of medicine withdrawals ordered by Poland's Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate (GIF) rocketed as the Health Ministry became extremely strict on substandard pharmaceutical preparations. In months preceding the incidence, the GIF issued two such decisions a month on average, but since then, more than 40 withdrawal notices have been issued. It is BMI's view that the GIF had been failing in its remit for some time and is encouraged that standards are beginning to approach internationally acceptable levels.
