OTC Market Forecast Upgraded
January 2007 | Product LaunchBMI has upwardly revised its projections for the Hungarian over-the-counter (OTC) market after the Health Ministry released the list of medicines that are allowed to be sold outside pharmacies. From the current valuation of US$400mn, we are now expecting sales of OTC products to reach US$690mn by 2010, up significantly from our previous forecast of US$600mn. This represents 15% year-on-year growth, a steeper trajectory than what BMI is expecting for the prescription drug market.
