Takeda Poised For Acquisitions?
November 2006 | Industry NewsIn a possible change to its core growth strategy, leading Japanese drugmaker Takeda could be poised to make another large acquisition. The company - which has estimated cash reserves of more than US$14bn - has traditionally favoured intensive product development as its main engine for revenue growth. However, a weak R&D pipeline and slowness to embrace the potential of biotech may have prompted company officials to work on 'a number of deals' to expand inorganically.
