Lonza Buys Genentech Plant

To further expand its biopharmaceutical capabilities, Swiss contract manufacturing organisation Lonza has purchased US biotechnology firm Genentech's production facility in Porrino, Spain. Simultaneously, Lonza has agreed to manufacture certain Genentech products at its plant currently under construction in Singapore. BMI sees both companies' actions as extremely positive given the exciting growth prospects for biopharmaceuticals in the medium term.
