Drug Sector Benefits From Rising FDI
November 2006 | FDI AlertThe Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TISK) has stated that in 2005 Turkey was the leading Mediterranean country in terms of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The confederation claimed that of the US$31.8bn in FDI that went to Mediterranean countries, around US$7.9bn went to Turkey. Meanwhile, rapid growth - as the country recovers from the economic crisis of 2002 - ongoing fiscal reforms, as well as lower corporate taxes should help encourage even more FDI in the coming years. In the first eight months of 2006, FDI had already reached US$12.5bn.
