Reported Takeover Bid For Mayne Pharma
September 2006 | Company Finance AlertAustralian drugmaker Mayne - which specialises in cancer treatments - has reportedly received a takeover bid of AUD2bn (US$1.5bn) from an unnamed multinational rival, according to local press reports. Speculation has rested on hospital supply company Hospira, which was spun off from US-based drugmaker Abbott Laboratories two years ago. Also mentioned as potential bidders, has been Israeli generics firm Teva and Swiss drug major Novartis.
