Takeda To Fight Back Tax Claim
August 2006 | Legal NewsLeading Japanese drugmaker Takeda is to contest a JPY57bn (US$490mn) back tax claim from fiscal authorities in the Osaka region. The charge reportedly relates to transfers from Takeda's US joint venture with Abbott Laboratories, TAP Pharmaceuticals, and specifically refers to exports of the leading ulcer drug Prevacid (lansoprazole) to the US.
