Drug-Resistant Strain Of TB Discovered

The World Health Organisation (WHO) is concerned about a new drug-resistant strain of Tuberculosis (TB) - known as XDR-TB - that has been discovered in South Africa and is considered virtually untreatable. TB has had a resurgence in the past decade and a half, and causes around 1.7mn deaths each year.
