Mercosur's Medicines Policy Criticised
August 2006 | Industry NewsBrazilian health minister José Álvares da Silva has claimed that the medicines policy of South American trade bloc Mercosur is its 'Achilles heel'. The comments comes just months after the region's health officials pledged not to introduce so-called TRIPS-plus patent regulations, and promised to boost mutual co-operation on pharmaceutical pricing issues.
