Australia To Reimburse Herceptin?
July 2006 | Company Finance AlertElsewhere, a court in Melbourne, Australia has ended a seven-year class-action lawsuit into alleged price fixing in the animal vitamins industry. Roche, BASF and Aventis have now received increased fines totalling AUD30.5mn (US$22.07mn), relating to suspect activity during the 1990s. In 2001, the three companies respectively received fines of AUD15mn, AUD7.5mn and AUD3.5mn, and prosecutors hope the case will provide a precedent for other anti-trust lawsuits. A final decision on the case by the federal court is expected shortly.
