South Africa To Avoid AIDS Doomsday

New research suggests that the introduction of ARV therapy for 50% of infected people could dramatically reduce the impact of the disease in South Africa. The study, conducted by Stellenbosch University's Bureau of Economic Research (BER), claims that if left untreated, AIDS will shave 0.4 percentage points off the country's forecast annual GDP growth rate of 4.4% by 2020.
