Qatar's High Drug Spend Prompts Concern

A number of factors including Qatar's small population and the small size of the market, which means that manufacturers cannot benefit from economies of scales, have driven up prices. Meanwhile, the relative wealth of the population has meant that, traditionally, there has been scant demand for low-cost drugs.
