Stada To Acquire Serbia's Hemofarm
July 2006 | FDI AlertGerman firm Stada is poised to acquire Serbia's largest drug manufacturer - Hemofarm - for US$608mn to exploit the country's low cost base and Eastern Europe's booming generics market. The transaction has been welcomed by Hemofarm's management, but is contingent on Stada purchasing a determined amount of shares within the framework of the takeover offer. In addition, the acquisition requires the approval of the Serbian securities commission and the anti-trust authorities.
