Drug Sector Condemns Spain's New Medicines Law

The pharmaceuticals industry in Spain has voiced its ongoing opposition to the country's new Medicines Law, approved on June 29. Industry federation Farmaindustria has already claimed that the measure will cost the sector EUR750mn per year, or around 7% of annual turnover. Lost R&D investment could total as much as EUR1.7bn by 2010, according to multinationals - all for the price of shaving EUR1bn per year off the national drugs
